Circular Dichroism (CD)
SGS M-Scan’s Wokingham facility is the first in the UK to offer GLP/GMP-compliant Circular Dichroism Analysis (CD), and the first to install Jasco’s latest CD Spectropolarimeter, the J-815, with class leading optical performance versatile for a range of applications, including:
-
Protein folding and conformational studies (secondary structure)
-
DNA/RNA interactions
-
Enzyme kinetics
-
Purity testing of optically active substances
-
Quantitative analysis of pharmaceuticals
-
Natural organic chemistry
-
Biochemistry and macromolecules
-
Rapid scanning (time resolved) experiments
This is a significant enhancement to SGS M-Scan’s Product Characterisation Package, tailored to the ICH Q6B guideline which require Spectroscopic Profiling as part of the assessment of the physicochemical properties of a product. All new biotechnological or biological products need spectroscopic profiling as proof of conformance to gain regulatory approval.
