Course Instructors

Staff at SGS M-Scan are Consultants and Analysts in Mass Spectrometry and have considerable experience of course design and delivery in Industry and Higher Education. Areas of special expertise in Mass Spectrometry include: protein, carbohydrate and oligonucleotide sequencing; proteomics and post-translational analysis; pharmacokinetics, determination of hydrocarbons and detergents in the environment; forensic science; and instrument design.

Dr. Andrew J. Reason is a Course Programme Director and is a main contributor to all courses. He is Group Manager of SGS M-Scan Europe (based in Wokingham, UK) and has over 20 years experience of Mass Spectrometry and characterization of proteins and glycoproteins.

Dr. Luc-Alain Savoy presents seminar discussions on courses MS05 and MS06. He is a Director of M‑Scan SA (based in Geneva, Switzerland) and has over 20 years experience of Mass Spectrometry applied to characterisation of proteins and pharmacokinetics.

Dr. Fiona Greer is a major contributor to the MS06 course. She is Director of Biochemical Services and Quality Assurance at SGS M-Scan Ltd and in addition to more than 25 years experience of the application of Mass Spectrometry in Biochemistry, she has a background in biopharmaceutical product characterization and regulatory affairs.

Other Study Directors contribute to courses as Course Tutors through special lectures and in practical and problem session tutorials. They all have considerable experience of the application of Mass Spectrometry to a range of analyses.
